Know How To Pay An E-Challan In Delhi

A challan is an official document issued by the traffic police in case they found someone breaking the traffic rules and regulations. If a challan is released against a person, he/she is liable to pay a penalty depending on the type of violation.
The fines usually remain the same for every state, however, the government has the authority to alter it. If the challan is issued using the Electronic Challan System, then it is named as an e-challan.

The e-challan system in Delhi is designed with an aim to improve road management at the same time, to ensure complete safety of citizens on public roads. The e-challan system is based on an Android operating system with an integrated software.
The gadgets used by the Delhi Traffic Police for generating the e-challan are compliant with 4G network and have a fingerprint sensor for biometric support. Once an e-challan is generated, its details are sent to the violator through an SMS on their registered mobile number.
The violator’s details such as vehicle number, contact number and the address can be taken from the RTO Offices in Delhi.
Traffic violations for which an e-challan can be issued in Delhi are jumping the red light, overspeeding the vehicle, parking the vehicle in an unapproved place, not carrying documents such as DL and RC, etc.
If an e-challan has been issued against your name, you will receive an SMS after which you will be supposed to pay it within the grace period. Step 1: Open the website, https://delhitrafficpolice.nic.in/
Step 2: Click on “Notice” tab on the homepage
Step 3: From the drop-down menu, click on “Pending Notices”
Step 4: Once a new page open, enter your vehicle number
Step 5: Then, click on “Search Details”
Step 6: All the details about the challan will be shown on a new page with the payment option
Step 7 Click on “Pay Now”
Step 8: Choose the mode of payment
Step 9: An SMS about submission of fine will be sent to the registered mobile number

Step 1: Open https://echallan.parivahan.gov.in/index/accused-challan
Step 2: Add the required details such as challan number, vehicle number, or DL number
Step3: Enter the Captcha code and click on the ‘Get Detail’ tab
Step 4: Once a new page open, verify the details about the e-challan
Step 5: After verifying it, click on ‘Pay Now’ under the Payment column
Step 6: Pick the appropriate mode of payment
Step 7: A message will be sent to the registered mobile number after successful completion of payment
